After the events of October 2023, which left the residents of the Gaza Strip in a state of crisis and uncertainty, the women's triathlon association, in cooperation with the challenging group in the Gaza Envelope, decided to work for the promotion of unique sporting activities designed to support the rehabilitation process of the residents of the area. The main goal is to return the participants to regular sports activities that will serve as a physical and mental anchor for them, while strengthening the sense of belonging and personal resilience.
The association has made the promotion of sports, with an emphasis on extreme sports, as a way to encourage personal growth and social rehabilitation. In her eyes, sport is not just physical activity but a tool for improving the quality of life, dealing with crisis situations, and building community and personal resilience. Through these initiatives, the association hopes to create a space where the residents of the Gaza Envelope can find hope, encouragement and personal empowerment, all while emphasizing the strengthening of the social fabric in the region.
The activities are carried out in the central centers of the local authorities in the Gaza Envelope, including the Ashkelon beach, Shaar HaNegev, Sdot Negev, Eshkol, and Sderot. The programs include a wide variety of sports activities, from individual and group sports training to joint sports events, with the aim of strengthening the relationship between the communities and instilling values of cooperation, mutual encouragement and perseverance.
The association and the challenge group see this activity as an opportunity to reconnect with the inner strength and power of the community, and believe that through movement, challenge and human connection it is possible to deal with crises and build a better future.
The members and members of the association are sportsmen and women residents of the Western Negev region as well as other supporters registered with the association.
